The suspect, 39-year-old Gary Lee Crockett, was charged with being a fugitive from Florida, where a warrant was issued last week for his arrest on first-degree murder charges, Kentucky officials said. The victim, Benny R. Brown, in his late 30s, was found stabbed to death in his bed at 2302 Morgan St. Dec.
22, Tampa police said. A neighbor, Odell Williams, told The Tribune she had been looking for Brown all day Dec. 22 and found him in his bloody bed that night. Jordan died Sunday at a Manhattan, N.Y., hospital after a short illness. She was 48. Jordan, a graduate of Howard University, was a caseworker and supervisor with the Fulton County Department of Welfare in Atlanta until 1965, when she was stricken with multiple sclerosis. Jordan was active. in social and community organizations, and with the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Tampa police Detective Rick Childers, who flew to Lexington Sunday, and Lexington police seized Crockett's clothing and personal possessions during their search of the Lexington apartment Sunday, Bryant said. Childers also questioned the suspect for several hours following his arrest, officials said. Crockett apparently lived in Lexington before moving to Tampa several months ago, Bryant said.
The suspect was being held without bond at the Fayette County Detention Center and will be arraigned today at 9 a.m., police officials said. Childers was on a flight back to Tampa late Sunday and could not be reached for comment. Oxley died in his sleep Dec. 22 at the Acton, ranch, about 30 miles north of Los Angeles, where he had trained animals for screen roles for more than 20 years, said Carol Riggins, who "baby the animals when Oxley was away. His most famous pupil was "Bruno," the 650-pound black bear who appeared opposite Dennis Weaver in the "Gentle Ben" television series in the late 1960s and later appeared with Paul Newman in the film "Judge Roy Bean." A lion named "Neil" was so popular he was inducted into the Humane Society Hall of Fame, Riggins said. ROLLEY, inventor of Sea 'n' Ski suntan lotion, died Thursday at Stanford University Hospital after suffering a heart attack. He was 82. Rolley, who lived in Atherton, founded a San Francisco firm called Rolley which manufactured and marketed perfumes and cosmetics. He invented Sea 'n' Ski and sold it to Botany Mills Inc. for $2 million in 1956.
Survivors are his son, Doug Ray, of Fort Meade; three sisters, Nancy Tucker and Myrtle Arnold, both of Valdosta, GA and Susie Stockwell, of Apopka; three brothers, W.P. Ray, of Nashville, GA, Aaron Ray, of Ball Ground and Junior Ray, of Lake Park, GA; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
