Animation and video games have a lot in common. They both can be extremely stylistic, adrenaline adventures that capitalize on action and high stakes. It just so happens that the anthology series Love, Death, + Robots has a series of episodes that fit perfectly within this niche.

Some episodes are slow and philosophical, but there are two sides to the sci-fi coin. The other side is intense, futuristic battles involving monsters, machines, and some combination of the two. Because of this, some episodes of the series would be perfect for a video game adaptation. Here's a list of some of the top contenders.
10 Ice
Ice is a story about two brothers, one equipped with modifications that essentially make him superhuman. The other brother is normal. Together, the two of them head out onto the large sheet of ice that surrounds their city.
When a large creature causes the ice to crack, they have to run for their lives to safety. The result is a very trippy action sequence with stylized animation that could make for a great side-scrolling game. Ice's look may even be anime-inspired. The story itself isn't enough for an adaptation, but the concept and style have the potential to be expanded into something unique.
9 Snow In the Desert
This episode is far different than any other on the list. It's not a run-and-gun type shooter or even a fighting game. Instead, this episode would work best as an open-world RPG similar to something like Fallout, Borderlands, and The Outer Worlds. Essentially, the episode is about a wanted man in a futuristic, sci-fi wasteland.
The episode offers an opportunity to create a vast landscape for players to explore, and a world filled with strange characters and danger around every turn. It's nuanced, which is what RPG gamers are all about.
8 Sonnie's Edge
Fighting games with great characters like Mortal Kombat are a huge genre. It doesn't matter if it's just humans fighting, mechs, or monsters, players love to square up against each other and go toe to toe in battle. That's exactly what Sonnie's Edge is all about.

The episode features players taking virtual control of biomech monsters to fight in an arena. The story has a twist when it's revealed one woman actually had her real consciousness transported into one of these creatures. With that kind of possibility, there are plenty of ways to make an interesting story out of a fighting game like this.
7 Bad Traveling
At first glance, this episode might not seem like a good fit for a video game. However, games featuring ships traversing vast oceans have found success in the modern age. Games like Sea of Thieves and Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag have shown the possibility of what an open-world ocean game can do.
This episode is about a giant man-eating crab that comes aboard a ship and makes a deal to spare the crew if they take it to an island. If one were to combine the open-world naval gameplay with this episode it could make for quite an adventure.
6 Shape-Shifters
War games are automatically popular. All one has to do is look at the never-ending maps created in the Call Of Duty franchise to realize they aren't going anywhere anytime soon. This episode features that concept and combines it with the idea of werewolves.
It seems to go so perfectly together that it's surprising a game like this isn't already on the market. Levels can alternate between being a classic shooter and delving into supernatural horror. At that point, the story is largely irrelevant as gamers can rejoice in the merger of these two styles.
5 Mason's Rats
This episode is quite bizarre. It's about a farmer that has a rat infestation that he tries to eliminate. Unfortunately, these rats are well-versed in warfare and fight back at every effort the farmer makes. Finally, the farmer gets a rat-killing machine that is quite unstoppable.

It's so brutal, the farmer ends up siding with the rats in order to stop it. This type of fighting could make for a fun and quirky game with either the rats or the farmer as the main protagonist.
4 Lucky 13
A lot of these entries are about shooters, and this episode was about a shooter too. Except it's different in that it's about a futuristic fighter jet rather than a soldier on the ground. The story is about a supposedly lucky ship that protects its pilot mission after mission.
While the story is heartwarming, the action itself offers some great fast-paced, aerial combat. Also, the episode's climax does have some action on the ground to keep things varied. Either way, this episode would offer plenty of opportunity for gamers to get their sci-fi, fighter jet fix.
3 In Vaulted Halls Entombed
It's amazing when a story with both action and horror comes together so perfectly. This episode is about a group of modern soldiers that venture into an ancient tunnel. They face a strange security system of sorts before finding out that it's actually a prison for a large Lovecraftian monster that terrorizes them into cutting out their own eyes.
A straight adaptation probably wouldn't suffice, but there is more than enough material here to create an excellent horror game that would give players nightmares for days.
2 Suits
Suits is the odd combination of a science fiction setting and old-time Americana companions like Fallout. It's about a group of farmers on an alien planet that is protected by a force field. Unfortunately, sometimes hostile aliens enter the force field in swarms and the farmers have to fight them off using mechanized suits.

The type of sci-fi shooter action that follows would be perfect for a video game. The number of aliens that overwhelm the farmers create plenty of opportunities to just open fire and mow them all down in a satisfying style.
1 Kill Team Kill
It's hard to think of a more adrenaline-filled episode than Kill Team Kill. The story is essentially about a group of soldiers tasked with killing a cybernetic monster. It's an episode where the story is largely irrelevant, choosing to focus on crazy, animated action instead.
The style, feel, and tone of the episode is perfect for a high-paced action game with tons of crazy warfare. Add into the account that it's brutally gory and hardcore gamers would absolutely love the never-ending mayhem that comes with this kind of fighting.
